Approached by The Shop Floor Project and Lakeland Arts, I was invited to make a creative response to the historic Blackwell House, which nests on the edge of Lake Windermere in Cumbria. Along with creating a series of monotype prints inspired by the residents of the house since 1901, I designed a mono-print & drypoint printmaking workshop on the grounds of the property.

Blackwell has been inspiring artists for years, most recently Laura Ellen Bacon and Halima Cassell. They want to continue this tradition, so partnered up with the Ulverston ‘The Shop Floor Project’ to commission three artist / makers to develop three workshops inspired by the house.
The Shop Floor Project selected the following artists:

Ruth Vintr will be creating bespoke jewellery inspired by the Arts & Crafts period
Explore Mono-printing and Drypoint printing in a workshop with Lucy May Schofield. Find inspiration in the natural Arts & Crafts motifs.
Emily Mackey will be taking you through a weavers design process, on your own mini loom, to create textiles reflecting the landscape and ecology in which Blackwell House sits.
