Each year I create a moon chart and this year's offering is the Moon Box. A new moon, half moon and full moon are woodblock printed with mica and shiro sumi ink on heavy weight black kozo washi, handmade in Echizen, Japan. Mounted atop a woodblock print depicting starlight and housed in a beautiful handmade kiribako paulownia wooden presentation box. It is said that these boxes are traditionally  'where we place our most precious things, entrust our dreams, and put that which we wish to treasure'. Often used as containers for musical instruments, or in tea ceremony, I feel that our connection to the moon phases are our most vital year-long companion.
